Before Thought
The opening transmission in the Broadcast 0 series.
Before Thought is not a conventional hypnosis recording. There is no rapid induction, no continual reassurance, and no destination you are expected to reach.
Instead, the recording lingers in the quiet territory that exists before interpretation. Through sparse language, extended silence, recursive statements, and subtle shifts in attention, it invites you to remain with ordinary experience just a little longer than you normally would.
The piece draws on phenomenology, Ericksonian hypnosis, conceptual art, and the psychology of attention. Rather than attempting to create extraordinary states, it asks what might already be present if nothing is hurried.
There is no correct way to experience this recording.
You do not need to understand every sentence.
You do not need to "go into trance."
You are simply invited to listen.
Some listeners may find it meditative.
Some may find it unsettling.
Some may find that its questions continue quietly long after the recording has ended.
